Conor McCarthy

My name is Conor McCarthy and I am the Head of Biology here at GEMS Founders School. This is my second year at GFS and I am extremely excited to welcome the students into lessons this year and hope they will enjoy every lesson with our fantastic teachers within the Biology department.
I am from a small town in South Wales and have always had a strong passion for Biology. I completed my degree at the University of South Wales with a BSc in Human Biology. Following graduation, I gained experience in the Scientific field by working as a Microbiologist for 6 years across a number of different industries before returning to Cardiff Metropolitan University where I received my PGCE. After completing my PGCE, I began teaching Science near my hometown before moving to Dubai last year.
Outside of school, I am an active individual that will try most sports. Most commonly I play football and golf and I aim to play as many of Dubai’s amazing golf courses as possible in my spare time.
