Rachael Boyle
Head of Student Welfare Key Stage 2
Hello, my name is Ms. Rachael and I am delighted to introduce myself as the Head of Student Welfare for KS2, this academic year. I am from Aberdeen in Scotland, and this is where I gained my Masters Degree back in 2010. I have lived in Dubai for 13 years now, and I cannot think of a more diverse, safe and inspiring country to teach in, as well as raise my two lovely daughters.
As a welfare support leader, my aim is to ensure our GFS learners have access to the necessary support systems in place, to ensure optimum well-being. This will provide the opportunity for all students to reach their full potential. I am proud to lead on many of our well-being provisions here at GFS; such as our well-being clubs, student welfare councils, 1:1 sessions for support, as well as supporting the school counsellors. I am also a trained Mental Health First Aider which provides me with the tools to support not only our students here at GFS, but our staff and teachers, too.
In addition to my welfare role, I am also a Year 4 class teacher. In the classroom, I strive to provide pupils with the opportunity to investigate and discover their own learning. I have a passion for active learning and aim to incorporate this when planning and teaching lessons to foster engagement, inclusivity and enthusiasm.
I look forward to working with you and all of our GFS families this year, to ensure all our learners receive the well-being support and provision they need to grow, flourish and succeed. Both here at GFS, and beyond the realms of the classroom.
