It is a honour to be the Associate Principal at GEMS Founders School, Dubai. I have been involved in the education sector for 19 years and have experience working in schools in England, the United States of America and the UAE. I obtained my BSc. Physical and Health Education degree from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point (UWSP), USA in 2004 and soon after relocated to Bingley, West Yorkshire to teach at Beckfoot School. During my time at Beckfoot I taught Physical Education and was responsible for the quality of teaching and learning through my Lead Practitioner role. I then began my MEd. (Curriculum and Leadership focus) as well as teaching undergraduate Physical Education courses at UWSP. In 2010 I moved to Dubai and have worked in two international schools in leadership roles. In 2015 I completed my MEd. degree from Murdoch University and in February 2021 I was awarded my National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH). I have a distinct passion for sport and accomplished my dream of playing professional football for Hull City in 1993. I love to exercise, specifically running and cycling, as well as play golf and tennis in my free time. My wife, Jessie, is from Belgium and currently works as a Physical Education teacher in Dubai. We have one daughter, Reese Annie Plant, who keeps us both very busy and entertained outside of school hours.
