Edward Nutt

Head of Key Stage 4

Hi my name is Edward Nutt and I am both a Mathematics teacher and Head of Key Stage 4. I grew up in a small countryside village in Leicestershire and went to the University of Leeds where I completed my undergraduate degree. After university I began to pursue a career in teaching. I was initially a teaching assistant in a school in Oxford where I led math’s intervention to secondary school pupils. From this I moved onto the Teach First graduate scheme where I was placed in Peterborough. Here I completed my PGCE at Canterbury Christ Church University.

My educational ethos is that every child has the right to a quality education where they can strive to achieve. I believe that pupils should be continually praised to improve confidence to increases chances of success. I want to develop independent holistic learners that are prepared for the dynamic world we live in. It is this I want to impart onto the Key Stage 4 cohort that I will be leading at GEMS Founders school.

As well as my experience in teaching I am an avid sports fan and will be encouraging pupils to lead an active healthy lifestyle. I look forward to helping pupils outside the classroom in extracurricular activities enhancing their educational experience.
